Comptroller pulls TIF bill
Brian Reisinger at the NBJ reports on the decision by Comptroller Justin Wilson to withdraw a proposal overhauling the state's tax increment financing rules. Wilson said he doesn't think there's enough time to appropriately educate lawmakers about the nuances of his plan, which drew flak from a number of business and development groups.
Wilson said today that the legislation “clearly did not eliminate TIFs for economic development” and repeated his assertion that he wants greater accountability to taxpayers and more streamlined state statutes.
