Essent's Ohio deal is off
Essent Healthcare's deal to purchase Brown County General Hospital is no more. Nashville-based Essent said Thursday it will no longer pursue the deal it reached in September 2009, leaving the 115-bed Ohio hospital without a buyer, according to a local report.In announcing the decision, Essent CEO Mike Browder said, "We have tremendous admiration and respect for the Brown County Regional HealthCARE Board of Trustees, the Brown County Commissioners, Brown County General Hospital and its employees and physicians. We appreciate the time and energy they have devoted to finding a strategic partner for Brown County General Hospital. We have every confidence they will determine the right course of action to make the hospital successful, and we wish them the very best."
