Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor John Morgan has recommended Glenda Glover, a Tennessee State University graduate who serves as dean of Jackson State University’s College of Business, as the next president of the university. The board will vote on Morgan's pick — which has the approval of a TSU alumni group — on Nov. 27.

The two finalists to take over from Hazel O'Leary as president of Fisk University will visit the campus next week. One, James Williams, is the dean of the business school at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. The other, Lawrence Drake, is a former Coca-Cola executive who now heads up a management consulting firm in Atlanta that works with General Electric and CSX, among others.
The Tennessee State University National Alumni Association is endorsing Glenda Glover, a TSU graduate, for president.
