Atlanta firm takes over leasing at The Avenue
The Avenue at Murfreesboro has a new leasing agent in Atlanta-based The Shoppping Center Group, which today announced exclusive gigs for three shopping centers, including the 810,000-square-foot Avenue.
The Avenue is a joint venture between Cousins Properties and Faison Enterprises, with anchor tenants including Belk, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, and others. In 2009 Cousins and Faison brought in Eakin Partners to handle the leasing. The Shopping Center Group tells GlobeSt.com that it is negotiating with five potential tenants for the center.

Developer extends 'Boro mall's debt due date
Cousins Properties says it has extended by three years the maturity of a loan for its part of The Avenue Murfreesboro, which opened in 2007. The money had been due late last month but $8 million in principal payments, $1 million in fees and a higher interest rate — 3 points over LIBOR versus 1.15 percent earlier — helped that deadline disappear.
