Affordable Housing Resources ranks 7th in homeownership preservation
Nashville-based Affordable Housing Resources has been named the seventh-most effective organization in the nation at preserving homeownership, according to NeighborWorks America.
NeighborWorks — a congressionally chartered, nationwide affordable housing and community development nonprofit of which AHR is a member — based its just-released ranking on the number of homes saved from foreclosure. The nonprofit assessed 235 member organizations across the country.
AHR saved 351 homes from foreclosure from October 2011 to September 2012, according to the survey.
“Supporting and preserving homeownership in Middle Tennessee has been our focus for more than 20 years and has become critical during this recent era of serious economic challenge,” Eddie Latimer, CEO of Affordable Housing Resources, said in a news release. “Our tremendous success saving homeowners from foreclosure in the last year is only possible because of our longstanding partnership with THDA and its Hardest Hit program.”
