Hotel REIT buying Brentwood Hilton property

Newly public Florida-based Chatham Lodging Trust is preparing to put its new cash to work by buying six properties with more than 800 rooms from Maryland-based RLJ Development. Among them is the Homewood Suites hotel in Maryland Farms. Chatham (Ticker: CLDT) sports a market cap of about $160 million.

Aluminum producer Noranda on Monday paid a one-for-one stock dividend to its investors, which really means private-equity firm Apollo Management, which owns 98 percent of Franklin-based Noranda, is one step closer to a nice IPO payout.
