A small specialty hospital north of Houston has signed on to use the electronic health records and patient documentation software packages developed by local companies Healthcare Management Systems ad Patient Logic, respectively. Both HMS and Patient Logic are division of HealthTech Holdings.
TrustPoint Hospital in Murfreesboro, which opened its doors last year, has added 16 beds and two psychiatrists to its operation. The facility, located next to Middle Tennessee Medical Center and run by Brentwood-based Polaris Hospital Co., now has 76 beds. New on staff are doctors Joseph Sharpe and Jon Draud, both of whom are seeing patients at The Wellness Center on the Baptist Hospital campus.
HCA Holdings recently wrapped up its acquisition of Thousand Oaks Surgical Hospital northwest of Los Angeles, which had been owned by a group of physicians and Texas-based Cirrus Health. The company's Los Robles Regional Medical Center has brought the seven-year-old specialty hospital's operations under its wing. In a statement, hospital officials said the deal "allows for a natural progression toward expanded healthcare services inherent in today's health care environment." The 344-bed Los Robles hospital is one of HCA's half-dozen California facilities.
