2013 Leadership Middle Tennessee class includes county mayor, chamber execs

Leadership Middle Tennessee has announced a 34-person class for 2013 that includes business and civic leaders from 10 area counties. Among the people who will spend 15 days in the coming year immersing themselves in regional issues are Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce COO Nancy Eisenbrandt, Rutherford Chamber President Paul Latture, Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto and Assistant District Attorney Ray Crouch Jr.

On the business side, a number of community lenders — including Avenue Bank, First State Bank and Legends Bank — are represented, as are law firms Tune Entrekin & White and Wyatt Tarrant & Combs and commercial developer Duke Realty. Check out the full list here.

Deed Geek: Price of the Century

Duke Realty's sale of its three Century City buildings got filed Monday afternoon. Total price paid by the JV between a firm run by veteran local real estate investor Tom Smith and Alabama’s Harbert Management comes in it at $26.55 million. The JV mortgaged about $20 million of that, according to a filing with the Register of Deeds.

Investment partners buy Century City buidings

A joint venture between a firm run by veteran local real estate investor Tom Smith and Alabama's Harbert Management has acquired three office buildings in Century City and another two in downtown Cincinnati. The local properties are the One, Two and Three Lakeview Place buildings — Three is pictured here — which have a combined 380,000 square feet of space and are about 16 percent empty. Smith/Hallemann Partners and Harbert paid almost $100 million for the bunch; the Cincinnati properties are valued at about $72 million.
