Local firm to lift profile of round-the-world yachters

Local public affairs and brand management pro Dennis Alpert has hooked up with a Dutch financial services company that is sponsoring a team taking part in an 11-month, 40,000-mile yachting race that started last summer. Alpert's Hidden Bay Group will work with a Washington-based firm to run brand and client activation programs for De Lage Landen, a unit of the Rabobank Group, at the various port stops remaining in the Round the World Yacht Race.

“Having grown up sailing off the coast of New England and being a huge sports enthusiast myself, I have a special appreciation for competitive sailing and for what DLL is doing through their sponsorship and port activation programs.”

Eat, drink and be Murray!

It may be cold, wet, and miserable outside but it is ok to dream about getting back out on the golf course again without having to wear a parka. Nashville’s Dennis Alpert is hoping that you do and live out your “Caddyshack” fantasies at the same time. Alpert, formerly executive director for the PGA Tour and now president of Nashville based Hidden Bay Group, is working with Bill Murray and his brothers Joel (AMC's "Mad Men") , (restaurateur) Andy, Brian Doyle-Murray (Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, Scrooged, etc), Ed and John and helping them put on their 11th annual Murray Brothers Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament, which will take place next March in northern Florida. The beneficiary will be the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, the school the legendary singer and musician Ray Charles attended as a child.
