Local attorney launches nonprofit to assist poor farmers

Attorney Todd McKee and entrepreneur Kevin Goughary have launched ToolLife to collect donated tools and distribute them via nonprofits to those farmers and workers in developing nations.

The start of the nonprofit — read more here — coincides with a Cumberland Transit-sponsored event to be held tonight. (Get event info here.) The initiative is part of a larger effort that aims to collect outdoor gear and equipment to be used by volunteer Brazilian firefighters. ToolLife is working with Cumberland Transit to make the overall effort a success.

McKee (pictured) is with McKenzie Laird PLLC and is known for his legal work with nonprofits. Goughary is recognized for his past work with Soles4Souls.
