Nissan focuses on social, digital marketing

Marketing Daily has checked in with Nissan, where Erich Marx has recently been named director of social media and interactive marketing. The move, Marx says, acknowledges the reality that Facebook, Twitter and their peers are critical tools for engaging customers and prospects. But Marx also is leading a rebuild of Nissan's website and has some wise words for marketers of all stripes.

"A lot of people say 'why worry about a Web site if you have Facebook?' But we control our Web site -- it's us. Facebook, quite frankly, is not in our control. So, why this new company? There are many law firm SEO companies in the marketplace but only a few that offer market exclusivity to their clients. At Virtuoso Legal Marketing, clients have the option to own their geographical market with no competition from other Virtuoso clients. The standard in the industry is for the same company to promote multiple clients in the same markets and for the same practice areas.
