The Wayne County Airport Authority has renewed the contract of a joint venture between Central Parking and a private Detroit company to manage the parking at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. Central Parking has to win it again in Portland
The mayor of Portland, Ore., has asked his citizens to provide input on how to choose the manager of some key downtown garages — a job he awarded this spring to Central Parking. There's enough political jockeying going on to suggest Nashville-based Central Parking would be better off devoting its business development budget elsewhere.Last month, the consortium sued in Multnomah County Court to force Jay out of its group. Jay said in an interview that he joined Central as an individual, not in his role as president of the African American Chamber of Commerce, so there is no conflict of interest. "Your guess is as good as mine," Jay said when asked why there's tension. "I was the one that brought everyone to the table. Central Parking gets central PA contract
Central Parking System Inc. has landed a five-year contract with the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority to manage and operate the parking and shuttle service at Harrisburg International Airport in Harrisburg, Pa. The mayor of Portland, Ore., is holding off on sending to the city's council a recommendation to award to Central Parking a $10 million-per-year contract to manage city-owned garages. Houston airport extends Central Parking deal
