Vandy sports jump down the dial

Radio coverage of Vanderbilt football and men's hoops is shifting to Cumulus Media's 97.1 RQQ from 104.5 The Zone, which is owned by Citadel Communications. Looks like Cumulus wants to jump up the charts.
During the fall 2009 Arbitron radio ratings period, 104.5 The Zone was the seventh-most listened-to radio station in the Nashville area among listeners 12-plus. 97.1 RQQ came in 16th place, making it the lowest-rated full-power commercial radio station in Middle Tennessee.

Book it?

Venerable Nashville sports-talk personality George Plaster reported on his 104.5 The Zone drive-time show today that Sommet Group and the Nashville Predators have reached a resolution in the ongoing arena naming-rights spat and an announcement to that effect is forthcoming. Reached for comment by Post Business, Preds Senior Vice President Gerry Helper said, "We are still in discussions with [Sommet Group] and we've had discussions, but there's nothing official to announce at this time."
