Buddy Lee Attractions, the 46-year-old booking agency, has acquired Metro Talent Group, an Atlanta firm that represents Edwin McCain, Corey Smith and other artists. The latter's founder, Cass Scripps, will work from Music Row full-time after a transition period.

Father Ryan grad elected to Atlanta bank board

Atlanta's Fidelity Bank has added Millard Choate, a graduate of both Father Ryan and Vanderbilt, to its board of directors. Choate runs Choate Construction, which helped build the Icon in The Gulch and Rhythm condo towers. Fidelity's parent company (Ticker: LION) has about $1.8 billion in assets and two dozen offices in Georgia and Florida.

HMS launches interoperability product

Nashville's Healthcare Management Systems today said its launching a new interoperability product that allows hospitals to exchange clinical information between their IT systems, health information exchanges and public registries. The product, HMS Connex, will help hospitals meet first-level "meaningful use" criteria for electronic health records in order to qualify for reimbursement funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. HMS Connex is designed to help customers achieve Stage 1 Meaningful Use interoperability requirements, specifically reporting hospital quality measures to CMS, exchanging key clinical information among providers of care (Continuity of Care Document standards), submitting lab results to public health agencies, and submitting data to immunization registries.
