404 Kitchen, Pinewood Social, Wilson among James Beard Award nominees

Nashville restaurants The 404 Kitchen and Pinewood Social have been named semifinalists for the prestigious James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant. The pair are among 30 restaurants nationwide to be nominated, with the semifinalist list to be cut to a finalist grouping later this spring. Located in The Gulch, The 404 Kitchen is a project by, in part, Chef Matt Bolus, while Trolley Barns-based Pinewood Social is the newest creation of, with the Goldberg brothers (Benjamin and Max), ex-Catbird Seat chef Josh Habiger. Both 404 and Pinewood have received strong reviews from Post sister pub Nashville Scene. Relatedly, Tandy Wilson (pictured) of Germantown-based City House has been nominated for Best Chef, Southeast. This is Wilson's sixth semifinalist nod. Read more here.
