Hillsboro bookstore expands offerings
In the wake of several local bookstore closures, Hillsboro Village's BookMan/BookWoman has expanded its offerings to include new books and best sellers.
"We strongly believe that our model of selling 15 to 20 percent new books and the rest gently used books is the way that bricks and mortar bookstores survive and can be successful," said President Saralee Terry Woods. "Our customers have asked us to step up and provide Middle Tennessee with new books, bestsellers and unusual books and so far the experience has been very positive."
BookMan/BookWoman's move comes two months after national chain Borders said it would close two of its local stores and six months after local icon Davis-Kidd filed for bankruptcy.
