Cybera hires three, promotes one

Local network security company Cybera, Inc., has hired Phil Delaune as director of network operations and customer support, Brian Goff as director of security engineering and Anca Pop as director of product development, and has promoted Sheldon Gibson to the position of director of customer engineering.

In addition, the Franklin-based company has promoted Sheldon Gibson to director of customer engineering.

The personnel moves come after longtime customer Shell Oil announced earlier this year it would to move its gas stations to a Cybera payment card platform by the end of the year.

“We have so many talented individuals coming on board and growing in their roles at Cybera,” Cliff Duffey, Cybera CEO said in a release. “Our team grows stronger every day, alongside the rapid growth of our company, and we are looking forward to the future of Cybera with the added contributions of Phil, Brian, Anca and Sheldon, reinforcing and continuing our success.”

Cybera makes a big friend

The team at network security venture Cybera has just tripled the size of its indirect sales force by being named a vertical solution provider for Verizon. Salespeople for the telecom giant will help market Cybera's products, along with the company's wireless services. That should open the door to more big-name customers that have locations all over the country.

“Many enterprises seek to minimize offline conditions by replacing or supplementing traditional broadband connectivity with reliable high-speed wireless connections,” said Verizon Wireless Regional President Jerry Fountain. “With a high demand for solutions that provide wireless connectivity and security, Verizon sees great value in combining Cybera’s fully managed cloud security service with our wireless network.”
