A joint venture between RegionalCare Hospital Partners — which will soon have a new majority owner — and a large Montana physicians group has ended talks about teaming up with a nonprofit health system in North Dakota. Catch up on the info here.
Kent Wallace, the former CEO of RegionalCare Hospital Partners, has been named executive vice president and COO of Kindred Healthcare. Based in Louisville, Wallace will take up his new role at Kindred — which last month completed its purchase of local rehab hospital venture Centerre Healthcare — on Feb. 2. He resigned from his position at Brentwood-based RegionalCare last year.
Kindred runs numerous hospitals, inpatient rehabs units, nursing centers and more. Current President and COO Benjamin Breier will take over as CEO of the company at the end of March.
The joint venture between RegionalCare Hospital Partners and Montana-based Billings Clinic has finalized the purchase of Community Medical Center, located in Missoula.
The deal, terms of which were not disclosed in a release, was originally announced in March. The hospital employs more than 1,000 people and investments in the facility are expected.
"We are honored that the board of Community Medical Center chose Billings Clinic RegionalCare to be their partner," Marty Rash, RegionalCare CEO and chairman, said in a release. "In today's increasingly challenging health care environment, it is imperative that like-minded organizations come together to improve access to high quality health care and provide continued choice for patients and their families."
