Kent Wallace, the former CEO of RegionalCare Hospital Partners, has been named executive vice president and COO of Kindred Healthcare. Based in Louisville, Wallace will take up his new role at Kindred — which last month completed its purchase of local rehab hospital venture Centerre Healthcare — on Feb. 2. He resigned from his position at Brentwood-based RegionalCare last year.
Kindred runs numerous hospitals, inpatient rehabs units, nursing centers and more. Current President and COO Benjamin Breier will take over as CEO of the company at the end of March.
The joint venture between RegionalCare Hospital Partners and Montana-based Billings Clinic has finalized the purchase of Community Medical Center, located in Missoula.
The deal, terms of which were not disclosed in a release, was originally announced in March. The hospital employs more than 1,000 people and investments in the facility are expected.
"We are honored that the board of Community Medical Center chose Billings Clinic RegionalCare to be their partner," Marty Rash, RegionalCare CEO and chairman, said in a release. "In today's increasingly challenging health care environment, it is imperative that like-minded organizations come together to improve access to high quality health care and provide continued choice for patients and their families."
Brentwood-based RegionalCare Hospital Partners has agreed to deploy the mobile applications developed by AirStrip Technologies across its portfolio of eight hospitals in seven states. The companies say the technologies will be put in place over several phases.
“AirStrip is the ideal choice to help RegionalCare overcome the barriers created by geography and disparate monitoring systems,” AirStrip CEO Alan Portela said. “By leveraging mobility to provide clinicians with a unified and complete picture of patient information, the AirStrip/RegionalCare partnership can lead to measurable improvements in the assessment, monitoring and direct care of patients.”
Texas-based non-profit health system Baylor Scott & White Health announced Monday a five-year affiliation agreement with RegionalCare Hospital Partners' hospital in Paris, Texas to provide service, education and enhanced emergency capabilities.
Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas, will provide advisory medical expertise as well as limited access to ongoing education programs, internships and advanced clinical programs to Paris Regional Medical Center.
Paris Regional Medical Center serves the Northeast Texas and Southwest Oklahoma area and is part of the eight-hospital, multi-state RegionalCare Hospital Partners system. The system's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Herman Williams, is a member of the 2014 Nashville Health Care Council Fellows.
