Analyst action: Emdeon, Regions

Wells Fargo analyst Greg Bolan says the negative sentiment on shares of Emdeon has become irrational. Despite lowering his forecasts a bit to account for the company's lukewarm Q2, he has upgraded the stock (Ticker: EM) to 'outperform' from 'market perform.' Emdeon is missing out on today's market gains and down about 10 percent since reporting its second-quarter numbers. Also not following the broader market higher are shares of Regions Financial (Ticker: RF), which yesterday were on the receiving end of a 'sell' downgrade from Tom Mitchell at Miller Tabak. Mitchell says the Southeast's economy "will become even more sluggish before it improves," which will limit the 2011 upside of the largest bank in Middle Tennessee.
