Andy Moats has been promoted to executive vice president and chief credit officer at Avenue Bank. He succeeds Gene Whittle, who has left the bank.
Moats, who has been with Avenue since it began organizing three years ago, will run credit administration and credit policy for the $500 million-asset bank.
“Andy has been with the Avenue team literally since Day One,” said President and CEO Ron Samuels. “He has been an outstanding contributor, leader and mentor and will serve our company well in this vital role.”
Moats was senior VP and director of credit underwriting when Avenue opened its doors in July of 2007. He also has overseen branch site selection and acquisition and is the bank’s Community Reinvestment Officer.
Before joining Avenue, he worked was a regional director for commercial real estate credit at Regions Bank and an underwriter at the former Union Planters Bank.
