Vanderbilt University Medical Center has announced that James Mathis has been promoted to chief compliance officer.
Previously the chief clinical enterprise compliance officer and assistant vice chancellor for health affairs at VUMC, Mathis also served as chief compliance officer at Omnicare and held positions at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis and Fresenius Medical Care.
"I am delighted that Jim has accepted the broader role and responsibilities of Chief Compliance Officer for VUMC," Dr. David Raiford, Vanderbilt Health System chief of staff, said in a release . "His outstanding work over the past 16 months has garnered respect from leaders at Vanderbilt and the collaborative spirit he has modeled while building a best-in-class compliance program has been a great fit with the Vanderbilt culture."
Reporting to Vanderbilt Health System CEO Wright Pinson, Mathis will oversee strategic review, planning, implementation and operations for all compliance matters, as well as oversee the Vanderbilt Reporting Hotline.
