North Carolina-based fast food chain will establish its first Nashville location in the Midtown building last home to Arby’s and owned by local developer Alex S. Palmer.
To be located at 1809 West End Ave., the eatery will join a Mufreesboro Cook Out, which was Middle Tennessee’s first of the brand that focuses on outdoor foods (burgers, hotdogs, barbecue and shakes). East Tennessee has five Cook Out restaurants.
Qualified Builders Inc. will serve as the general contractor and has a permit, valued at $600,000, to undertake the rehabbing of the approximately 3,070-square-foot building. The building home to Arby's, which closed recently, is located in an area seeing significant change (read more here )
A privately owned company headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, Cook Out also has locations in Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina and Virginia. The chain has expanded quickly and now has drive-thru restaurants in more than 70 cities.
Palmer, founder of Midtown-based Alex S. Palmer & Co., bought the .4-acre property in 1994 for $324,756.
