International clothing giant H&M will open at the CoolSprings Galleria — its second Nashville area retail location — in May 2015, according to a release.
Construction on the 23,969-square-foot space at the mall, owned by CBL & Associates Properties Inc., will begin this summer. H&M, which will have both interior and exterior entrances to the facility, will be located within a space that is part of the redevelopment of a former Sears store. The clothing store will be joined by the state’s first American Girl store, also slated to open in May 2015.
The release did not disclose a cost to retrofit the H&M space.
H&M (Hennes & Mauritz) is a Swedish multinational retail-clothing company that totaled revenues of $141 billion in 2012. It operates in more than 50 countries and with about 116,000 employees.
“We are excited to bring H&M to CoolSprings Galleria to further solidify its status as the premier shopping destination in the region and demonstrate our commitment to investing in the mall’s continued growth,” Stephen Lebovitz, CBL president and CEO, said in a release. “H&M is an international fashion leader that will bring its fashion-forward styles for men and women to many excited CoolSprings Galleria shoppers.”
Relatedly, Belk will begin a $12.6 million expansion and renovation this fall, including a new 50,000-square-foot men’s and kids store on the first level of the former Sears location and to open March 2015. Belk’s main store renovation will begin in February 2015 with a grand reopening of their flagship store set for October 2015.
Plans for The Cheesecake Factory opening at CoolSprings Galleria were disclosed a few weeks ago. The 8,720-square-foot restaurant will be located near Belk on the Mallory Lane side of the center and is planning a November opening.
