The longtime owners of Joelton's Highland Rim Golf Course are ready to retire and have put their course up for sale.
In an email last week, John Doerr said he and his wife are looking to move closer to their adult children and, as a result, are getting out of the golf game.
"We are looking for an individual or family who would like to continue Highland Rim’s tradition of family friendly golf and outstanding customer service. Only experience needed is a passion for golf. It’s a wonderful opportunity for a family to own and operate. I’ll be happy to help out for several months as you learn the ropes," Doerr wrote.
The course will operate normally during the transition and the undisclosed price includes the 158-acre course, carts and other equipment and a three-bedroom house currently used as a rental property. In addition, an adjacent seven-acre wooded tract is for sale under a separate contract.
The golf course was last assessed by Cheatham County in 2013 at $2.2 million.
