Miller & Martin Chairman James Haley announced today the firm’s Nashville office has added Douglas Berry, David Lewis and Catie Lane Bailey as members.
The hirings are another sign that the Chattanooga-based firm is rebuilding its Nashville presence after losing the majority of its attorneys in 2012.
The additions also follow the hiring, announced in February, of health care attorney Susan Steelman, who is no longer with the firm.
Berry (pictured at left) arrives from Nashville-based Berry & Harris, where he represented various Tennessee cities in zoning, eminent domain and utility matters. A former law clerk for Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Bill Harbison and an ex-deputy attorney general for Tennessee, Berry served as the attorney for the City of Franklin from 1989 to 2007. He received his law degree from Vanderbilt University after earning undergraduate and master’s degrees from Davidson College and the University of North Carolina, respectively.
Lewis (pictured at right), who focuses on health care law, previously was vice president and associate legal counsel at LifePoint Hospitals in Brentwood and has been involved in health care legal work for more than 25 years. He is a former partner with Husch Black
