Captain D's is building offices and a test kitchen in Grassmere Office Park. Tenant has the $600,000 job on nearly 23,000 square feet. A call to Captain D's officials to clarify the scope of the project was not immediately returned.
Hyatt comes in at $32M
The Hyatt Place hotel downtown on Third Avenue South is under construction. The 13-story, 255-room hotel will cost $32.4 million to build. Hardin has the contract.
Finish out on Pine Street
The joint venture behind Pine Street Flats apartments in The Gulch has pulled dozens of permits totaling $12 million to finish the project.
Construction will soon begin on The Chesterfield, 43 single-family cottage-style homes to be built on the long-empty 2.8-acre site of the former Blair House Apartments (where Blair Boulevard and Chesterfield Avenue meet in the Hillsboro-West End neighborhood). Core Development is overseeing the project, with homes to range from $300,000 to $420,000. McLean Construction Co. has the contract, the permit for which does not list a dollar amount.
LED signage coming to West End Avenue
Tristar Service LLC has the $500,000 contract to install a 22' x 33' LED sign on the wall of the 1720 West End Avenue Building pictured here.
The basement ballroom, lobby, meeting rooms and fitness center at Courtyard by Marriott Downtown are slated for updates. Continental Contractors Inc. has the $331,641 contract.
Renovations are scheduled for the AT&T Cell Service facility in the Baker Building on the Vanderbilt University campus. The cost is $250,000, with Broadway Electrical Service Corp. handling the work.
Another Core project
Core Development (see above with The Chesterfield) has received a permit to demolish an existing two-story apartment building located at 17th Avenue South and Wedgewood Avenue. The company plans a six-condo development  for the site. Enviromental Abatement Inc. has the $14,000 demo contract.
