Despite having what will likely be one of the largest margins of victory in Tennessee after next Tuesday's general election, Congressman Marsha Blackburn is still after more campaign donations and has sent out a fund-raising letter to aid in that task.
In a letter sent to potential contributors, Blackburn says she voted against the "bailout bill" of the financial markets because it was "too much bailout and not enough workout," that there was "too much government interference in the free market," and too much power was given to just a few people with "virtually no accountability."
Interestingly, her use of the term "bailout" is in stark contrast to Republicans like Senators Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander who have gone through great pains to "correct" reporters that the market action taken was not a bailout but a "rescue plan."
Blackburn notes that "If the Obama Democrats take control of the White House, we will be facing one of the more radical shifts in the direction of our nation in American history." Democrats might be inclined to take that statement as a compliment.
Closing out the letter, Blackburn states that the last 10 days of a campaign are the most critical and that she needs your help "as we come to the finish line."
Here's a full copy of the letter [2] being distributed.
