Cumberland Trust & Investment's Joseph "Pepe" Presley has been named chairman in addition to president and CEO.
Presley helped launch Cumberland Trust in 2001 and has helped lead the company's growth to oversee $1.3 billion for its clients. The firm now runs offices in Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga and Knoxville, as well as Atlanta and Austin.
Presley began his finance career in the early 1970s at the former Third National Bank. He left the company — then a part of SunTrust Bank — in 2001 as senior vice president and head of personal trust services. A graduate of Sewanee and the Nashville School of Law, Presley is past president of the Estate Planning Council of Nashville, the Tennessee Bankers Association Trust Division and the Planned Giving Council of Nashville.
