Medical documentation venture M*Modal has replaced its chief information officer with an alumnus of construction materials company Martin Marietta.
Chuck Musciano fills the role previously held by Kevin Piltz, who has resigned from Franklin-based M*Modal but will help Musciano transition into his new job between now and June 30. Piltz had joined what was then still MedQuist Holdings in May of 2009 after a stint as CIO of accounting services company Geller & Co.
Musciano most recently served as CIO at Martin Marietta Materials (Ticker: MLM [2]), a $1.7 billion (revenue) producer of construction aggregates. There, he oversaw Martin Marietta’s information infrastructure.
Musciano's hiring is the latest in a line of executive and board changes [3] at M*Modal (Ticker: MODL [4]), which last summer acquired a Pittsburgh peer and is looking to branch out well beyond its traditional medical transcription offerings.
“Similar to the other senior executives we have brought on board in the last six months, Chuck is accustomed to executing with a high level of intensity and velocity for large, growing companies,” said Vern Davenport, chairman and CEO of M*Modal. “I would also like to thank Kevin Piltz for his contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
