The all-electric Nissan Leaf that will begin driving off production lines in Smyrna this fall could soon be joined by a high-end Infiniti cousin.
The Chicago Tribune reported recently that Nissan Americas officials said it would be logical [2] to have the Infiniti LE sedan be produced in Smyrna. That would provide another automotive jolt to the region’s economic development landscape, which has in recent months seen the addition of dozens of jobs [3] at numerous big-name manufacturers and suppliers.
Word of the potential Infiniti addition in Smyrna comes two months after workers in Smyrna began to turn out the Infiniti XJ crossover. [4]
