Web marketing firm Emma Inc. has promoted two of its headquarters employees to help oversee financial planning and operations.
Patrick Block has been named director of financial planning and analysis. He will lead budgeting activities, coordinate all financial reporting and projections and oversee the company's receivables and payables. Block has been with Emma since 2007 — having also worked at Healthways and Managed Health Network — and was previously manager of financial planning and analysis.
Scott Sears has been promoted to director of operations from IT operations lead and will lead Emma's move into the Trolley Barns development on Rolling Mill Hill this June. In his new job, he will guide, coordinate and support Emma's teams, focused on communication, collaboration and efficient operations. Sears is co-owner of the SoBro restaurant Flyte and was one of the owners of the city's original Internet service provider, Telalink.
"Patrick is much more than our finance guy. His insights help to inform our product plans and key business decisions," said Emma CEO Clint Smith. "For the last four years, Scott has been Emma's go-to IT guy. He's been responsible for all technology used by Emma employees, and he juggled this responsibility marvelously. I'm sure he will juggle his new responsibilities just as aptly."
