When a health system is trying to go viral with its ads, the irony is getting pretty thick. But that appears to be the case at Saint Thomas Health Services, whose soon-to-be-released Saint Thomas Heart commercials have been posted on YouTube.
The commercials, entitled 'From the Heart' and available at this link [2], tout the merits of Saint Thomas Heart, the newly combined cardiology groups of both Baptist and Saint Thomas hospitals. According to the site, they feature unpaid locals who were asked their candid opinions about heart care facilities and services in Nashville during focus groups.
Saint Thomas Heart was created in October of last year [3], combining Baptist’s Mid-State Cardiology and The Heart Group at Saint Thomas Hospital. Both have kept their individual practice names, but they now operate under the Saint Thomas Heart umbrella.
Saint Thomas Health Services spokeswoman Rebecca Climer, speaking with NashvillePost.com this afternoon, said that the ads represent the "second phase" of rolling out the Saint Thomas Heart brand, the first being October's announcement of its creation.
Describing the campaign further, Climer said that, going forward, it is going to be ‘pervasive.’
So every time you see one of those ads about cable legislation, expect it to be followed by one of these as Saint Thomas Heart gears up to fight for the hearts and minds of Middle Tennessee patients. Well, mostly the hearts, but you get the idea.
The first ad is set to hit the television airwaves today at 4 p.m. during Oprah.
