Ardent Health Services has appointed Dr. Jean-Paul Creusat as chief medical informatics officer.
Creusat, who was previously with health care IT consulting firm ROI Healthcare Solutions, will help the Nashville-based hospital company in its work toward meeting federal requirements for using electronic health systems.
"Dr. Creusat is proven in shaping the development of clinical information systems that assist physicians and nurses in delivering quality patient care," said Ardent president and CEO David Vandewater. "He'll be a significant benefit to our clinicians as we move into this next era of electronic medical records and computerized physician order entry."
Creusat will work with Ardent's Tulsa and Albuquerque hospitals, clinics, labs, pharmacies and health plans, representing the needs and requirements of the physician and nursing communities as Ardent works toward achieving "meaningful use" of electronic health systems in order to qualify for federal reimbursement dollars.
The 25-year industry veteran has led informatics initiatives at more than 65 hospitals nationwide. Prior to ROI, he was the IT physician advisor at Avista International and senior physician advisor for McKesson Corp.
