Construction will soon begin on the $21 million addition to Metro's Howard School office building, located at 700 Second Ave S. The addition will be three stories and total 180,000 square feet. Messer Construction Co. is doing the work.
This week, permits were pulled by Benning Construction Co. for the renovation of the Publix at 7604 Highway 70 South near the Bellevue Center. The construction does not change the existing floor plan. The work is valued at $1.2 million.

Tennessee State University is preparing to re-roof five of its campus buildings. The buildings are the Kean Hall Gynasium, Crouch Hall, the Walter S. Davis Humanities Building, the Student Center and the Operations Building. The work totals $500,000 and is being completed by Hardin & Barga Construction.
