The Nashville Technology Council [2] said Thursday that it has named HealthStream (HSTM) [3] co-founder Jeff McLaren to be its chairman. Also, Joe Freedman, chief executive of eConception [4], and Dennis Grimaud, chief executive of ScyTech, have joined the group's board.
Mr. McLaren is president of HealthStream, which provides online medical educational services. In 1990, he and Bobby Frist created the company, then named New Order Media.
Mr. Freedman began Internet incubator eConception after creating and selling a legal staffing firm. Mr. Grimaud has had a long career in the biotechnology industry and is president of the Tennessee Biotechnology Association.
