Miller joins Stantec

Nigel Miller has joined Stantec as a senior geotechnical engineer and leader of the firm’s geotechnical services practice in Nashville.

Miller brings 18 years of experience as a civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineer with work in transportation, water infrastructure, aviation, and mining projects. His experience includes the design of highway bridges, roadway pavements, airport runways, high-rise buildings, retaining structures, earth dams, energy transmission lines and large-diameter water pipelines.

Miller is a graduate of the University of North Carolina with a M.B.A. He also has a Master of Science degree in geotechnical engineering from Brigham Young University.

MP&F welcomes Galin, Kelly

MP&F Public Relations has hired Evan Galin and Brooke Kelly as staff associates.

Galin, a Nashville native, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations and a minor in communication studies.

At UF, Galin managed public relations for homecoming events and campus concerts, including Gator Growl, the largest student-run pep rally in the nation. Galin’s public relations experience includes an internship at Southwest Airlines, where she worked on social media and community outreach campaigns, and an internship on the corporate communications team at Nissan in Franklin. She also worked as a collegiate correspondent for USA Today.

Kelly, a Jackson, Miss., native, graduated from Jackson State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communications with an emphasis in multimedia journalism and a minor in art. At JSU, Kelly worked as a staff writer and managing editor of the student newspaper, the Blue and White Flash.

In the spring, Kelly interned with MP&F, serving clients including Job Corps, Fisk University and the Metro Nashville Planning Department. Prior to joining MP&F, Kelly twice served as an editorial intern for the Jackson Free Press, an alternative newspaper. She also worked as a multimedia reporting intern with the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire in Washington, D.C., reporting at locations including the White House, National Press Club and U.S. Capitol.

“Evan and Brooke have gained valuable experience as students and interns,” MP&F partner Katy Varney said in a release. “We look forward to having them use that experience to work on behalf of our clients.”


Mackey uses Kickstarter for Taco Bike business

Cayla Mackey is undertaking a Kickstarter effort to fund Taco Bike Organic Breakfast Tacos, which she is promoting as the first bike-based organic food business in the South.

Taco Bike, which sells 100 percent organic and humane breakfast tacos from a bicycle, is sponsored by the American Humane Association, Griffin Technology, Surly Bikes, Emma, Bongo Java and the Nashville Chamber of Commerce. It is the first bike-based restaurant in Nashville and will be set up Monday through Friday starting at 7 a.m. in Halcyon Bike shop’s parking lot in 12South.

The business is already doing catering orders for Fivestone Studios, Uber Nashville, Lululemon, Griffin, Emma, Vanderbilt University, Center 615, and the Mayor’s Office. Mackey said she is halfway to reaching her Kickstarter goal.

Mackey has worked on organic farms Green Door Gourmet and Delvin Farms and is on the board at Farm in the City, where all Taco Bike’s food waste is composted.


Zeitlin & Co. Realtors adds Atwill

Zeitlin & Co. Realtors has added Patti Atwill as an agent who will work Middle Tennessee.

Atwill has held a broker’s license in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee. She holds the accredited staging professional (ASP) and graduate realtor institute (GRI) designations.

Jarrard welcomes Fecher, Rodgers

Brentwood-based health care communications and public affairs firm Jarrard Phillips Cate & Hancock, Inc., has added Letitia Fecher as senior advisor and Kendra Rodgers as director of marketing.

Fecher brings nearly 10 years of marketing and strategic communications experience in the health care industry and expertise in messaging, branding and reputation management. She has played key roles in steering a health system through a merger, launching community engagement initiatives, spearheading public perception campaigns and creating branding and image strategies.

Most recently, Fecher served as the senior manager of marketing and communications for United Allergy Services in San Antonio, Texas. There she launched the startup company’s marketing and communications department, implemented an organization-wide employee engagement effort and created external communications initiatives through branding campaigns, public/media relations and relationship development with physician organizations.

Fecher earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications with a public relations specialization from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Tennessee.

With more than 20 years of marketing and advertising experience, Rodgers manages promotional efforts and coordinates business development and positioning initiatives at Jarrard.

Rodgers has worked in both agency and in-house capacities in a wide range of industries.

Rodgers most recently served as the account group director for ACS Advertising. In her role there, she managed a team of account executives, directed all advertising efforts, oversaw the creative process management on behalf of clients and increased revenue 100 percent year over year.

Rodgers earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing with a minor in advertising from the University of Alabama.
