Frost Brown attorneys help launch payments sector consultancy

BlackLine being led by former Visa, Vantiv exec

A pair of attorneys recently hired by Frost Brown Todd have teamed up with a former Visa and Vantiv executive to launch a payment industry consulting firm.

Locally based Howard Herndon and Josh Rosenblatt are president and principal, respectively, of BlackLine Payments Advisors. They are working with CEO Pat Moran to market strategy, investor advisory, pricing, M&A and other services to payment processors and other players in the industry.

“Our team’s payments experience spans all aspects of the industry,” said Minneapolis-based Moran (pictured), who worked at Visa from 2000 to 2004 and at Vantiv and its predecessors from 2004 to 2012. “We’ve worked in-house for some of the largest payments companies in the world, as attorneys who focused on the payments industry, and as consultants for merchants, merchant acquirers, payments aggregators, payments networks, and payments technology providers.”

BlackLine, which is an official affiliate of Frost Brown Todd, also plans to lean on a network of other industry experts.

“While we have long served the electronics payments industry, our scope is focused on legal counsel and litigation,” said Frost Brown Todd Chairman John Crockett III. “Through our affiliation with BlackLine Payments Advisors, our payments attorneys will work closely with non-legal payments experts to provide clients with comprehensive counsel and a 360-degree view of their business.”
