Parallon Business Solutions affiliate HealthTrust has hired Kent Petty to be chief information officer for the Brentwood-based group purchasing company.
Formerly the system vice president and CIO at Wellmont Health System in East Tennessee, Petty also has held positions at Marriott International, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
"Kent's impressive background — with extensive health care and corporate technology experience that includes developing tools to turn an organization's clinical, financial and operational data into actionable intelligence — makes him the ideal executive to lead strategic design and implementation of HealthTrust's information technology services," Ed Jones, HealthTrust president and CEO, said in a release.
Petty also served in the U.S. Navy for 29 years as a Naval intelligence officer and information dominance warfare officer. He received a bachelor's degree from George Mason University and completed his master's certification at the Joint Military Intelligence College.
