Brentwood-based Confirmation.com has beefed up its international footprint by acquiring a similar audit confirmation company in London.
ProConfirm was launched in 2012 by a group of veterans who previously worked for a Big Four accounting firm. Terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed.
Brian Fox, founder and president of Confirmation.com, says the 13-year-old company has been booking a lot of growth internationally in recent years via deals in South Africa, Turkey and Oceania, among others. Picking up ProConfirm, he added, "will continue at an even more rapid pace." The ProConfirm team members — led by principals Samuel O'Connor (left in our photo) and Adam Goodall — will remain based in London and look to build their business in the United Kingdom and continental Europe.
“In Europe, there is a growing interest in our online audit confirmation service as more accounting firms and banks look for ways to improve operational efficiencies, and reduce the chance of financial fraud going undetected,” said Chris Schellhorn, CEO of Confirmation.com.
