Healthbox postponing fall incubator

Accelerator re-evaluating 'traditional' strategy

Healthbox will not launch its accelerator program this fall in Nashville as the company re-evaluates its incubation strategy.

Though the health care accelerator will maintain a permanent presence in the Entrepreneur Center downtown, Healthbox Director Jill Seidman said the company is no longer looking to fill an executive director position here. The form of any fall programming remains undetermined, but the accelerator class has been postponed until 2015. Last year's inaugural class included seven companies and ran from September through December.

"We're revisiting what makes the most sense for the Nashville market," Seidman said.

Healthbox's reconsideration of its Nashville plans comes a few months after it received a $7 million capital infusion from three firms to help spur its growth strategies.
