An ex-officer of Touchstone Medical Imaging pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for Middle Tennessee to embezzling $1.2 million dollars from the Brentwood-based company.
Michelle Nixon, formerly the regional controller of Touchstone, admitted to generating fraudulent checks to a company that she owned. She also admitted to concealing the fraud through false corporate documentation.
According to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Nixon is scheduled to be sentenced in October and faces up to 40 years in prison on two counts of wire fraud. She has agreed to pay $1.2 million in restitution.
Touchstone provides diagnostic imaging services at more than 20 locations in Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Nebraska and Texas.
