Vanderbilt Health System announces two senior promotions

Hospital and clinics reorganizing leadership structure

Vanderbilt University Medical Center has promoted two executives as part of an operational reorganization.

Robin Steaban, previously associate chief nursing officer and chief administrative officer at the Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute, has been named chief nursing officer for Vanderbilt University Hospital and Clinics. Additionally, Mitchell Edgeworth, COO for Vanderbilt Hospital, has been promoted to COO of the hospital and clinics network.

Through the promotions, the health system is eliminating separate chief nursing and operating officers for its hospital and clinics in favor of one senior leadership team.

"As we continue to refine patient care delivery to better meet the needs of our patients now and in the future, we are fortunate to have strong leaders such as Robin and Mitch to help lead the way," C. Wright Pinson, Vanderbilt Health System CEO, said in a release. "I appreciate their ongoing commitment to our patients, staff and faculty and we want to welcome each into these new roles."
