Atlanta-based Park ’N Fly Inc. has a contract to acquire the Nashville International Airport-area warehouse most recently used by publishing company Thomas Nelson.
According to sources who asked to go unnamed, the company will soon close on the purchase of the approximately 277,300-square-foot facility. It will maintain the warehouse for the option of indoor parking, the sources added.
A commercial real estate listing notes the asking price is $9.5 million. The ex-Thomas Nelson facility, which is empty and started seeing employees leave in late 2012 (read here), has an address of 565 Royal Parkway. Thomas Nelson Inc. owns the property, according to property tax records.
Park ’N Fly, officials for which could not be reached for comment, operates a Fly Away Airport Parking at 1671 Murfreesboro Pike. The company also has a facility in Chattanooga.
Other private companies that operate parking facilities near the airport and that are contracted with the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority include Flight Park, Executive Travel and Parking and The Parking Spot. Only one of the three offers covered parking.
HarperCollins Publishers LLC bought Thomas Nelson Inc. in 2011 (read more here). The New York-based company would, a year later, combine Thomas Nelson and Zondervan to create Harper Collins Christian Publishing, which is headquartered in Nashville.
