Delek brings on commercial EVP

Exec spent almost decade at Tesoro

Delek US Holdings has hired its third executive vice president from one of the oil refining and marketing sector’s bigger names.

Mark Smith joins Brentwood-based Delek, the parent company of Mapco Express, to oversee the company’s commercial operations after spending nine years at Texas-based Tesoro as vice president of supply, development and logistics. Company officials were unable to provide further details about his role at the company but Smith’s work at Tesoro included strategy and M&A on the logistics side as well as trading and risk management, where he worked on various financial instruments.

Smith joins CFO Assi Ginzburg and Frederec Green, who runs Delek Refining, as Delek’s EVPs reporting to Chairman, President and CEO Uzi Yemin.

Shares of Delek (Ticker: DK) closed at $30.66 Tuesday and have fallen about 10 percent year to date.
