Butler Snow Advisory lures Iroquois co-founder

Exec becomes fourth principal at division launched in 2011

Butler Snow Advisory Services has hired a principal with more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry for its Nashville office.

Rick Gernert comes to Butler Snow from Iroquois Capital Group, where he was a founding shareholder and managing director in its Investment Banking Group, as well as president of Iroquois Capital Advisors. He has worked with early-stage venture capital entities and advised institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals. Prior to Iroquois, Gernert was a managing director of Koch Ventures, a $150 million early-stage VC firm.

“Rick will bring a wealth of experience to Butler Snow Advisory Services,” said Matt Thornton, president and CEO of Butler Snow Advisory. “We are thrilled about the knowledge and value he will provide to our team and our clients.”

Gernert becomes the fourth principal at Butler Snow Advisory, which was launched in 2011. Early last year, the firm added former Ernst & Young manager Wesley Roberts to beef up its capital markets work.
