Urgent Team names new CFO

Former SpecialtyCare CEO tapped for growing urgent care operator

Urgent care provider Urgent Team has named  Michael Mauldin chief financial officer.

The former chairman and CEO of SpecialtyCare stepped down from that position in March. Previously, Mauldin (pictured) served as CFO for dialysis provider DSI, Saint Thomas Hospital and MedTel International. He also worked as senior vice president of operations finance for Renal Care Group.

"With his extensive financial background in health care, Mike brings invaluable experience to our company's fast growing network of urgent care centers," Tom Dent, Urgent Team chairman and CEO, said in a release. "He is a strong leader with significant strategic, financial and executive skills and we are enthused to have him on our team."

The Nashville-based company, which was previously known as WellNow Urgent Care, recently raised $5 million from an investor group last month. The company operates nine clinics in Mississippi and Tennessee.

"This is an exciting time to be joining Urgent Team," Maudlin said. "In addition to helping the Urgent Team network grow with new center acquisitions, I am looking forward to working towards the company's goals and making it a priority to achieve the business objectives set out for this year and the future."
