Availity opening Nashville tech center

JV with emids follows RevPoint acquisition

Following its acquisition of Brentwood-based RevPoint Healthcare Technologies, revenue cycle management company Availity is opening a technology center in Nashville.

In a collaboration between Jacksonville-based Availity and emids Technologies, a local health care technology solutions company, the companies plan to add about 60 employees during the next few months.

"Nashville has long been a hub for health care and health care IT," Trent Gavazzi, Availity chief technology officer, said in a release. "Working with emids to establish a base of operations for Availity in this market just made sense. All the pieces really came together when we acquired RevPoint: we're growing, we need to increase our development bandwidth, we've been partners with emids for some time now, and the RevPoint acquisition gave us a physical presence in Nashville. The decision to expand in this market was easy."

The new facility will operate as an expanded delivery center for emids, with dedicated Availity teams. Michael Hollis, senior vice president of sales and marketing for emids, said the partnership would allow Availity to accelerate product development efforts.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for Availity to capitalize on the uniquely talented health care IT personnel in the Nashville area," said Hal Andrews, vice president of Hospital Solutions for Availity and former CEO of RevPoint. "More than anything, we're excited about ramping up operations here in Nashville so we can deliver more for our growing number of customers."
