Back Yard Burgers promotes veteran employee to COO

Industry pro to also remain in chief marketing officer role

Back Yard Burgers has announced the promotion of Monte Jump to chief operations officer.

While leading Back Yard Burgers’ operations team, Jump (pictured) will continue to oversee marketing initiatives, as well as training and purchasing, as the Nashville-based company’s chief marketing officer.

CEO David McDougall credits Jump for BYB’s recent turnaround. Of note, the company has had 14 consecutive quarters of increasing same-store revenues.

“He is a consummate professional, and his insights and expertise have led to Back Yard Burgers’ recent success,” McDougall said in a release.

Jump has worked in the restaurant industry for 12 years, including with TGI Friday’s, Golden Corral and Carrabba’s.

Jump holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in business. Before entering the restaurant industry, he worked for PepsiCo for more than 14 years where he held positions in marketing and operations.
