UMG Nashville promotes veteran employee to president

Industry pro previously served as senior VP of marketing

Universal Music Group Nashville has announced the promotion of Cindy Mabe to president.

The label group includes labels Capitol Records Nashville, EMI Records Nashville, MCA Nashville and Mercury Nashville.

Previously Mabe served as senior vice president of marketing, overseeing digital and media marketing, creative services, production and international strategies for the four UMG Nashville labels. She will continue to report to UMG Nashville Chairman and CEO Mike Dungan.

“[Mabe] is a well-rounded executive and a terrific leader of people,” Dungan said in a release. “As our business continues to change at an alarming rate, we need her focus, dedication and expertise now, and in the future, more than ever.”

Prior to joining Capitol Records Nashville in early 2007, Mabe oversaw the marketing and day-to-day strategic planning for Arista Records Nashville and worked with, among others, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn and Carrie Underwood.

A North Carolina native and Belmont University graduate, Mabe serves on the board of directors for the Pencil Foundation, a nonprofit that links community resources of both volunteers and materials with Metro Nashville Public Schools.
