Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., today announced that ground will be broken this summer on the Westin Nashville Hotel in SoBro.
The Stamford, Conn.-based hotel operator is targeting an early 2017 opening, according to a release (read here).
To be developed by Nashville Hospitality Capital, LLC, the building to house the Westin Nashville will rise 25 stories and feature 430 rooms. It will be located at Eighth Avenue South and Clark Place fronting a segment of the Music City Center Roundabout. Minnetonka, Minn.-based Wischermann Partners, Inc., will manage the hotel for Starwood.
In the release, Starwood said highlights of the Westin Nashville will include a restaurant, a rooftop pool and lounge, an indoor pool and a full-service spa and fitness studio. The hotel also will offer approximately 25,800 square feet of meeting facilities space and a business center.
“We look forward to collaborating with Nashville Hospitality Capital, LLC, and expanding our partnership with Wischermann Partners to introduce the popular Westin brand to downtown Nashville,” Allison Reid, senior vice president of North America development for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, said in a release.
The Metro Development and Housing Agency design review committee will need to approve the exterior design of the hotel, with Nashville Hospitality Capital expected to soon submit drawings to the agency.To date, NHC has released no renderings or identified the architect.
